    Mineral insulated thermocouples cables for probes types K, J, T, N
Mineral insulated cables have an outer sheath of metal with 2 to 8 conductors. The insulation material is made from a highly compressed metal oxid powder(MgO).
Mineral insulated thermocouple cables have inner conductors of thermocouple base material. Mineral insulated cables for RTDs have inner conductors of copper, copper-nickel alloys, nickel, nickel chromium or nickel-plated cooper.
Mineral insulated cables are designed for high-temperature applications and are used wherever there are particularly strict requirements with regard to mechanical, chemical and electrical stability.

On account of their good flexibility, the use of mineral insulated cables is preferred in areas where mounting is difficult and where a high degree of flexibility is required. The minimum bending radius is 3 times the outer diameter of the mineral insulated cable. Innovations in technology and manufacturing have made it possible for these cables to be used increasingngly frequently as a material in the manufacture of standardized thermocouples and RTDs, in particular in industrial measuring and control technology and in automotive sensor technology.

          Metal sheathed mineral insulated signal lead-out cables
        Mineral insulated lead – out cables consist of two, three, four or more conductors embedded in a highly compacted mineral insulate (high purity magnesium oxide), this, in turn being encased within the metal sheath.
       

Mineral insulated lead – out cables are used to transmit the signals from transducer at the instrumentation device. The characteristics of mineral insulated cables make them suitable for applications which would be considered hostile for other types of insulation (down or high temperatures, high pressures, radiations).

        Some typical applications are: Resistance Thermometer Detectors, Strain Gauges, Displacement Gauges, Proximity Indication.

The characteristics of mineral insulated Cu-CuNi cables make them suitable as compensating cables for measure of liquid metal temperature with Pt10%Rh-Pt lance thermocouple and for measure the quantity of oxygen from liquid metal.
